Claire Grose has established herself as an evocative painter of landscapes and seascapes. Claire’s stunning oil paintings originate in the inspirational nature of light within the landscape. Influenced by Turner and Sisley.
Claire spends much time walking her dogs in the beautiful South Downs countryside that surrounds her home and further afield in North Devon.
She likes to paint “en plein air” to capture the atmosphere of the moment and then develops these ideas on larger canvases in her studio.
“I want to describe in my paintings how I feel about the nature surrounding me. I spend time studying and immersing myself in the landscape and then respond to this with my oil paintings. My work aims to represents an emotional response to what I see and each piece has a strong sense of calm.”
